Beginning, Beginning Watercolor
Oh, the thrill of watercolor, the moment color and water meet, pure magic! Pam Bleakney is excited to introduce you to the pleasures (and, yes, the frustrations) of watercolor, hoping you’ll fall in love!
In this CLASS SERIES, which runs on Tuesdays from January 16 through February 6, you'll learn color mixing and glazing techniques using a limited color palette of Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, and Ultramarine Blue. You’ll receive worksheets for practice before completing actual paintings and Pam will do many demonstrations. You’ll paint pears, a raven, a fairy forest, a rooster, a bird’s nest, a rabbit, a cat in a doorway or window, a bird of paradise, and a poppy.
Drawing (though important in watercolor) will be minimal, but some comfort with drawing is helpful. This class series is designed for total beginners with no painting experience. Your instructor will provide watercolor paper (cold press), Cotman paints by Winsor and Newton, and a palette. Students are responsible for some supplies (click "More info" below to learn more and see the list).
Class series tuition is $115 for OMAM members; $128 for future members.
