Tjanting & Watercolor with Dusana Souchek
Learn how to use a tjanting tool to create a beautiful wax resist watercolor painting. Students will work on 300lb watercolor paper instead of fabric. The tjanting tool is dipped in a hot wax, the wax comes out of the nozzle and you follow and cover your drawing lines with wax. When the wax hardens, watercolor is used to paint the piece of art. The final step is ironing off wax to reveal the white lines separating the colors in the painting. Students can bring their own watercolor paints and brushes or borrow from the instructor (please note during registration). All other supplies will be provided. This workshop is for the complete novice or the experienced painter.
