Botanical Prints
SUPPLIES
- Large Ziploc bag
- Tape
- Sandpaper
- Acrylic paint or printmaking ink
- Paintbrush
- Cup of water
- Mixed media or watercolor paper
- Textured items (leaves, bubble wrap, etc.)
- Can, bottle or rolling pin
STEPS
- Tape down the ziploc bag
- Roughen the plastic bag with sandpaper
- Add acrylic paint to bag
- Use bubble wrap to create texture
- Paint the textured side of leaves with a contrasting color
- Put leaves on the plastic bag, paint side up
- Lay down a piece of paper
- Use your hands or a can and press on the back of the paper
- Peel off paper and your first print is done
- Now you can re-wet the acrylic paint on the bag and repeat the process to create more prints
