10:30am-12:30pm FREE Youth Service Heroes Project for Kids 1/15/18 on 01/15/2018 @ 10:30am

Monday, January 15th, 10:30am-12:30pm

Please join local author Amanda Kinzey for this free class about how to care for the environment and recycle in our town! After a book presentation kids will make a fun art project from recycled materials.

About the book:

Summer Clean Up, the first volume in Amanda Kinzey’s Youth Service Heroes series, is the story of a young boy who discovers his passion for helping others through his love for drawing, and a desire to make a difference. Jonas and his classmates have one common goal in mind for Green Street Elementary–to create a cleaner school environment for everyone. Through Jonas’s willingness to lead and organize, his recycling movement sparks an interest in his fellow classmates, teachers, and local community members to join the cause and change the way their school looks forever.

Summer Clean Up engages young minds and teaches important life lessons: how to care for our environment, how to be a leader, and how to creatively carry out service projects

About the author/teacher:

Amanda Kinzey is a native of Daytona Beach, FL. She discovered a passion for helping others while working two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA and serving communities in both Orlando, FL and Rock Hill, SC. She found that working with children and families gave her a real purpose for serving others. She has her Bachelor of Science in Communications (Public Relations) from the University of North Florida and went on to receive her Masters in Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida. Her work with the Boys and Girls Club as a mentor for K-12 was the inspiration for the Youth Service Heroes series.
