Beginning/Intermediate Drawing Series with Karlene McConnell

Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30pm

May 8, 15, 22, 29

The purpose of this course is to introduce drawing to beginners and offer exercises to help intermediate students refine their skills and expand their creativity. All students will be provided with instruction and given several options to explore line, contour drawing and shading. Graphite pencils, pen, charcoal pencil and colored pencils may possibly be used. Advanced students may wish to choose their own subject matter, while beginners will be offered more basic subjects to observe and draw. All supplies will be provided. Open to participants 16 and older.

About the Instructor:

Karlene McConnell was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts but has spent the majority of her life as a Floridian. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from the University of Central Florida, she worked as a Special Education art teacher for several years and then Curator/Educator for the Ormond Memorial Art Museum in Ormond Beach, FL. She now paints full time in her studio.
