If natural pigments for painting and dyeing along with making your own ink is appealing, you will love this workshop. Bookbinding stitches, working with vintage book covers and book fabrics, and handmade papers will start you on a journey to create your own mixed media handmade book with a focus on the world of the garden. Simple printmaking, recipes for inks, plant knowledge, seed saving, watercolor, drawing and writing will all be included. Vintage garden magazines, seed packets, farm magazines, and gardening journals will be inspiration coupled with the beautiful Museum Garden where the workshop is held. Gain meditative habits for entering a creative visual journey with the garden and take home new skills and a special book of magic. All levels are welcome, and all supplies are included. Please bring any magazines, images or ephemera you’d like to incorporate into your book. Please bring a snack or lunch for this six hour workshop.
