Surface Interpretations: The Paintings of Antoinette Slick

March 8 – April 19, 2019

Opening Reception: Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6-8pm

This exhibit presents a series of nonobjective abstract paintings by Ormond Beach artist, Antoinette Slick, dealing with the complexity of unending surfaces that surround us. Informed by walls, floors, ceilings and doors, Slick is intrigued by the human emotional content of these surfaces and how it is influenced by everyday happenings over vast periods of time. Exploring with geometric, organic and symbolic shapes the artist juxtaposes the structure of gridded surfaces with cryptic mark making and spontaneous color to construct a metaphor for this ever-changing kaleidoscope of experiences.
